Fascinated by the sheer power of many individual voices becoming one, she has built her career around writing music for large ensembles while constantly exploring the space between composition and expression. Her work combines carefully crafted structures with openness, energy and a strong sense of narrative.

As a pianist, composer, arranger, and bandleader, Claudia moves between contemporary big band writing, orchestral jazz, experimental grooves and intimate acoustic settings. Rather than committing to a single style, she follows ideas wherever they lead, creating music that is both emotionally resonant and full of surprises.

Based in Cologne, she collaborates with ensembles across Europe, including the Frankfurt Radio Big Band (D), UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra (FI) and Swiss Jazz Orchestra (CH). Her work has earned international recognition, including first prize at the Helsinki International Big Band Composing Contest and a nomination for the Deutscher Jazzpreis for Best Arrangement.
A central part of her artistic work is TORSO VENTUNO, an international large ensemble bringing together musicians from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands. More than just a band, it is a musical reunion of long-standing collaborators whose shared history can be heard in the ensemble’s adventurous and deeply connected sound.

Not every musical idea needs a big band. Alongside her work for large ensembles, Claudia continuously explores new formats and collaborations. Earlier projects such as fourscape and ELiNOR left their mark on her artistic development, while current work includes an emerging solo project that offers a more intimate and personal space for experimentation. Whatever the format, curiosity remains the common thread.

Above all, she strives to create music that moves people—emotionally, physically, or somewhere in between.
